Using the pen

1. 01Check pen and needleRemove the cap: the liquid in the viewing window must be clear and colourless, otherwise please get in touch immediately. Use a new needle for every injection; discard bent or unsealed ones.
2. 02PrepareWash your hands, choose an injection site (see “Where to inject”) and clean it with water and soap or an alcohol wipe. Unseal the needle, screw it firmly onto the pen and remove both protective caps – keep the larger one.
3. 03Check the flowOnly when using a new pen for the first time: turn the dose selector to the flow check symbol (2 dots and a line), hold the pen upright, pointing up, and press the button until 0. If a drop forms, the pen is ready; if not, repeat – the product in the pen is sufficient for this.
4. 04Set the dose and injectTurn the dose selector to the appropriate dose, insert the needle and keep the button pressed until the display shows 0. Count slowly to 6; only withdraw the pen after the second “click”.
5. 05Dispose of the needle, store the penA drop at the needle tip is normal; if there is bleeding, press the site gently. Put the large protective cap on, unscrew the needle and dispose of it. Keep the pen in the fridge until the next injection in 7 days.
